csitricityslash and hearts_andmindsHe was born in Boston where he grew up the eldest of three with a younger sister (Amber) and brother (Matthew). He was always the geek at school excelling in all sciences. When he was ten he was diagonesed with OCD. He attended Boston University majoring in Chemistry. Not long afterwards he moved to Miami and started in the police academy at the top of his class before going into patrol.
He met the CSI team at a bus scene where he caught Horatio Caine's attention with his eye for detail. Horatio lated recruited him when injured in the line of duty. When he has time (job allowing) he is doing a masters in genetics. When he firsts joins them he isn't accepted as it is so soon after their friend was injured but they slowly accept them into their midst. His first case being a possible vehicle homocide that involves Calleigh's father.
At a crime scene he was shot in the eye with a nail gun and had the chance of loosing his site as it slowly became infected but was lucky that he had no damage to it. His friendship with reporter Erika Sykes is risky of him but ends up proving useful when she reveals to him that their is a mole inside the lab.
Even though he likes to keep to himself he has dated occasionally- both girls and boys but is mainly into boys. When he revealed this to his family they all refused to talk to him apart from his Uncle Ron who helped him get settled in Miami
